About the Event

Contagious Wellbeing: What We’re Learning at Wild Earth

Our gatherings are fueled by a deep dive into Oneness. We enter the woods slowly, simply taking in what we see without critique or judgment. We walk as though we are looking into a mirror, seeing ourselves everywhere.

Indeed, imagining that we walk with a mirror held in our hands is a good exercise for spiritual discernment. An even better exercise is to imagine the mirror you are holding as two sided. The mirror facing you is the “eye of Love” that you are continually receiving, and the mirror facing outward is the “eye of Love” that you offer in every step.

I’m going to name this giving and receiving “contagious wellbeing” because, well, because that’s precisely what this exercise does: infuses us with a sense of electrified wholeness flowing through our being wherein a joy surfaces that is instantly contagious.

We return to the joy of Carderock’s paw paws, mayapples and wild saxifrage - even if I can’t pronounce it - igniting a love so palpable it hurts. On this May Day, Beltane, Celebratory Spring Day, we give and receive the joy and beauty that spring inevitably awakens in us.

Upcoming Events

Marney refers to our little spot at Carderock as our “spiritual home.” We have an opportunity to give back to this land we love. The C&O Canal Association is sponsoring an invasive garlic mustard pull at Carderock on Saturday, May 7th, 9 AM – Noon. Please contact Jim at vip@candocanal.org. He will get back to us with details including where to meet.

Marney might be game for another wildflower walk through Carderock after a lunch break from the wild mustard pull. Please contact her at marneyb3@gmail.com if you are interested. Bring a bag lunch.
