Voices Around Us

Modern western humans often are primarily focused on our own, personal experiences in nature. We fail to ask, “What experience do trees, rocks and mountains have of us?” This is part one of “Voices Around Us.”

Next month we’ll reflect upon the voices of ancestors and future beings around us.

Please register. Our gatherings are limited during Covid.

Your attendance at the event is understood to hold The Wild Earth Spiritual Community and its leaders harmless in case of illness, accident, or injury.

What to bring:

• Camp chair
• Weather appropriate clothing
• Sturdy shoes
• Water and snack
• Blanket for warmth

Covid requirements:

Please abide by the following COVID-19 Safety Requirements:

Participation will be restricted to those who registered.

Face covering over your mouth and nose is required at all times during the gathering. Unfortunately, if you do not wear a mask, we will kindly ask you not to attend. We will not be able to provide face coverings.

We will not be able to supply hand sanitizer, insect spray, sunscreen or chairs. Hydrating is important. We will not have snacks or drinks to share. Please bring your own if you want or need any of these things.

Please do not attend if:

You have had two or more symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days before the gathering; or

You have come in contact with anyone else with COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days before the gathering; or

You are waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test or you are waiting for the symptoms to subside to the point of being recovered; or

You have tested positive for COVID-19 and are still suffering from COVID-19 or if symptoms have subsided and it has not been at least 10 days since the onset of symptoms before the gathering.

Directions to Turkey Run.

Location – Turkey Run Park located at Turkey Run Loop Road, McLean, VA, 22101. We ask that you please arrive early to park and walk to the meeting site so that we can start on time. Driving directions included at the bottom of this message.

Parking - Parking Lot C2 – After entering the park from either direction, turn left into the second parking lot. There is additional parking in the first parking lot, C1. We will be greeting folks at the left end of the parking lot C2 and directing you to our gathering spot from there.

Directions -

From I-495 take exit 43 and merge onto the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Take the exit for Turkey Run Park. Turn left at the sign on the exit ramp to enter the park.

From the northbound George Washington Memorial Parkway take the exit for Turkey Run Park. (Go PAST the exit for the GW Park HQ). Turn right at the sign on the exit ramp to enter the park.
