Wild Earth Gathering: Playing on the Whole Beach

Dearest Wild Ones,

During a long struggle questioning my belonging to the institutional church, someone, somewhere at some time, said to me, “You don’t want to play in the sandbox. You want to play on the whole beach!” My gratitude to the unknown speaker is immense because this has become a foundational metaphor as I honor and explore a boatload of spiritual traditions, not just my own.

As we continue to challenge our receptivity to being a truly inter-spiritual group, we begin this Sunday hearing one another’s faith stories. Amy will lead us as we launch this series by sharing the genesis and development of her own spiritual travels. As we grow in our ability to experience curiosity (rather than judgment) about another’s path, we are building a community where all feel welcome.

Also, we’ll get to hear again the ethereal harmonies of Amy, Jane, Heidi and Jenny!

As always, we immerse ourselves in what’s happening in the woods at Carderock duringthis season of sweltering afternoons and thunderstorms.
